I decided it was time for my son to embrace his heritage as a gamer. I dug out my old first edition copy of Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay to introduce him to roleplaying games. After all, I started gaming at about his age and it will require less miniatures and less confusing rules for him to start out this way. (As GM the rules will be my problem. Also, I've only got one fantasy army -- Orcs and Gobbos -- although I do have enough miniatures to make up skirmishers from other races.) When I told him this he got excited for a few minutes until he realized I was talking about the roleplaying game and not the tabletop game (I don't have the money to purchase the latest edition and the rules I have for it are scattered and buried in boxes). He turned to me and said "this isn't like Dungeons and Dragons, is it? I hate that game.
I'm crushed.
I convinced him that I would definately use miniatures for the battles, they'll just be smaller scale fights than he was interested in and that seemed to placate him.
In tangentally related news -- I'm thinking about selling my copies of Realm of Chaos: Slaves to Darkness and Realm of Chaos: The Lost and the Damned. Both are in pretty good shape, although not perfect. I was just wondering if there is still demand for these books. They're way more interesting than the current line of Army books and have much more detail for WFRP, WFB, and W40K. |

Disclaimer: I am no great painter. I play horde armies, and I go for speed. Prime, basecoat, ink, drybrush highlight, then a few details. I think my main strength is as a converter. So, I'm not claiming that these look great or anything, merely that they're about as done as I'm going to make them. I'm open to suggestion, especially easy one.

The above is a link to my Flickr. The 20 horms, 16 spinegaunts, hive tyrant, 2 winged fexes and 2 regular fexes were all painted since the oath began. I've included my hierodule (which I'll use as a Trygon if it's in the new book), my harridan, my mech stompa, my fateweaver, and my WIP bloodcrushers.
I'm probably going to work on some more tyranids since the book is due out soon, but this should cover me as far as the oath is concerned.

With my week off I decided to hunker down and get some things painted using the GW Spray Gun. I set out 70+ Marauders and the leftovers of my Beastman army to finish. I had a table outside in the beautiful weather. I had my air in a can locked and loaded and all I had to do was put the paint in the pot.
Right... the paint... -sigh-. Two bottles of Scorched Brown and what do you get? Two near Empty pots of Scorched Brown. I managed to spray 10 beastman until the paint ran out. Rather dissapointing considering the nearest GW is closed on Mondays AND Tuesdays and it is going to Rain on Wed. From the looks of the weather outside I have no doubt that'll be kicked up a notch for tomorrow, but luckily the rest of the week will remain the same as it was earlier today, sunny and beautiful.
So right now i have a decision to make. Is it worth going almost an hour+change out of my way to get 2 bottles of scorched brown (and two new cans of air just be on the safe side) OR do I wait till Wed to pick it up locally so i can work on it (hopefully) by Thursday?

Сегодня со Спыдриком переставляли мебель в квартире. Вроде ниче так получается пока. Да и два часа таскания шкафов и кроватей поспособствуют крепкому сну. Завтра думаем закончить. Стараемся сделать так, чтобы можно было смотреть на монитор и в телевизор прямо с кровати. |

Второй сезон Gunslinger Girls превратился в этноэкспедицию по достопримечательностям Аппенинского полуострова.
Давно было, до кризиса. Вот Darker than Black не успел, денег только на Владик хватило. |

4-й терминатор неожиданно понравился.
Хотя я всю серию этих фильмов смотрю некритично - мне даже 3-й понравился, хотя все выли и плевались.
Тут все составляющие есть - и геройство, и паранойя, и драки, и самопожертвование. |

Я мысленно заглядываю в желудок, а там пу-у-усто... И гулкое "Хочешь жрать?" возвращается ко мне едва слышным эхом "Давно пора!!!"
В желудке просто нереальная пустота. Такая может образоваться только после банана, миски кукурузных хлопьев с молоком, порции свинины запечённой в тесте и тарелки кальмарового салата. Тем не менее, я мужественно откладываю в сторону оливковое масло и заливаю вторую порцию салата майонезом.
И пусть мне будет хорошо... |

Только что обнаружил, что челюсть окончательно встала на место: при широком открывании хрустит справа, как в старые добрые времена. Так что регенерировал окончательно =) |

Сегодня в новинках рассылка магазина AirsoftPanda
Kart Modular Combat Rifle .308 (на базе M14) - 430 fps 0.2g BB (~130 м/с)
Цена - 140$
Забавная на мой взгляд модификация М14. Из плюсов - пистолетная рукоятка, RIS, приклад М-серии (возможность заменить на складной приклад от М4), подходят магазины от версии М14 фирмы Tokyo Marui. Минусы - думаю один самый главный - ВЕС! и "кривой" баланс (вперед) за счет RIS цевья, из-за чего я думаю вскидка и длительное удержание будет затруднительна. Хотя наличие тактической рукоятки думаю решит часть проблем, но вот навеска фонаря или AN/PEQ вернет дисбаланс обратно. Если бы еще AirSoftPanda отсылали AEG'ги в РФ то думаю были бы желающие сделать себе SPR на базе М14, но с новым дизайном.
